The Downeast Authors’ Book Fair is an opportunity for local Maine authors to interact with the public and sell their books.
When: Saturday, August 8th, 2026 from 10am until 4pm
Where: Greeley Hall at the Schoodic Gateway Event Center, 1776 US-1, Sullivan, ME 04664
Who: We are accepting applications from Maine authors with a preference given to authors in the Downeast, Midcoast, and Greater Bangor, Maine area. You can apply whether you are self-published, traditionally published or work with a hybrid publisher as long as you have at least one published book that can be sold at the event.
Cost: Thanks to the Frenchman’s Bay Library for securing the space for this event, authors can apply for free.
This event is open to the public for free.
How: The deadline for applications is May 1st, 2026. Application received after this date will be put on our waitlist. Acceptance and waitlist emails will go out no later than May 15, 2026.
Other details:
– Authors must be able to provide their own retail services.
– Authors must have hard copies of their books on hand to sell.
– Books text, covers, images, or illustrations created using generative AI tools, programs or algorithms are not permitted at this event. This does not include the use of AI-assisted tools that are used for tasks such spelling and grammar checks or voice-to-text.
